Facial expression - 'Kevin doesn't know how noncompetes work'

Font - r/StoriesAbout Kevin Posted by u/A-Midwest-Crisis Kevin made a really stupid decision and screwed multiple people out of jobs

Font - So my wife has been a hair stylist for many years and over the past few years has worked under Fantastic Sams in two different salons owned by our man of the hour, Kevin.
  • 04
Font - Kevin HATED FS. He also hated EVERY landlord he dealt with, even the nice ones. Before my wife moved to her current salon, the one she previously worked at Kevin had put a padlock on the dumpster, because he wanted to claim it as his own, even though they shared the dumpster with two other businesses. So that assured me that Kevin wasn't firing on all cylinders.

Human body - One day, Kevin decided to break away from FS to make my wife's current salon his own.

Font - What should have been a great opportunity for a new business to thrive turned into a nightmare for not just him, but everyone involved. See what Kevin failed to mention to everyone is that he broke his contract illegally by violating a noncompete. Now I'm not a legal expert, but from what I understand a noncompete basically means once you buy a well-known business, you can't open a business of the same type

Font - that competes with it. He went into this, knowing it was gonna be a problem, and still was stupid enough to go through with it anyway.

Font - Fast forward to a little over a week ago now. FS finally had enough and forced Kevin to close down his salons. My wife as well as like 34 other employees under Kevin were now basically screwed until further notice. But, there is hope. A new owner, as well as the general manager/smarter person in cars are working together to put a sale through to get everyone back to work. As I write this, today is the final day the banks have to come to a decision.

Font - Now I'm really hoping my wife gets her job, she applied for unemployment to try to make up for lost wages. But if her salon doesn't reopen, It'll suck for a while but I'm confident with her skills she could find a job elsewhere easily.

Font - TLDR; Kevin doesn't know how non competes work and now people are out of jobs.

Font - UPDATE HERE I GOT A FRESH NEW UPDATE HOT OFF THE PRESSES RIGHT HERE

Font - r/Stories AboutKevin. Posted by u/A-Midwest-Crisis Kevin ran a business into the ground and is taking no responsibility UPDATE L So I posted a while ago a story about the salon My wife worked for and the former owner of that salon Kevin violating a noncompete he had with the company Fantastic Sams. To make that whole thing short basically he knew about the noncompete and ignored the consequences until it blew up in his face. There's more to that story so I guess just consider this an upda

Font - So since then, there was a new guy that came in who tried to save the salon, they backed out, and now my wife's general manager is taking over as the owner for a brand new location. So pretty soon she's gonna be working again.

Font - Here's where Kevin comes in. This man is putting all the blame on fantastic Sams and not taking any responsibility for what he did. He's started a go fund me that supposedly would help payroll but I guarantee it's only for himself. And even the fantastic Sams is supposed to be one of the villains in the story, he just recently posted something to my wife and all her other coworkers about someone who owns a FantasticSam's somewhere else doing $1000 sign on bonus and supposedly he himself w

Font - He made a really stupid decision which led to a bunch of his salons closing down And a bunch of people out of jobs temporarily, and he just doesn't seem to think he's at fault at all. What's even worse is that this is like a 50-year-old man who now has to sell his house, leave Minnesota, and move back in with mommy and daddy in South Carolina.
  • 16
Font - That's about all to the update, but every time my wife tells me about something he said I just want to track him down and p ch him in his stupid face.
  • 17
Font - rudebii So many SMB owners are Kevins that blame everyone else when things go bad ("nobody wants to work anymore, because democrats") and credit only themselves ("We Built This") when they succeed.

Font - A-Midwest-Crisis OP. That's exactly it too from everything that my wife has shown me he always talks about how "we are in tough times" and "we suffered a hit" It's like no dude you are the one that caused this
